My Journey - Amelia's tale

Today marks the 2999th day, the day still fresh in my mind as though it happened just yesterday. It is also the eve of my pledge, if I may say so. I still count each day as it moves further and further from our final encounter. I grasp the memory tighter as it advances. I refuse to put it in writing for fear of being known to others. I do not remember what I ate three days ago, but I make sure that I do not let the only souvenir of you slip from me. My journey, though arduous, seemed minute compare to our goodbye. I sometimes wished that you would have understood and stayed, but reality forced me to accept otherwise. It was unfair to anyone, especially to the one you gave your all. The uncertainties were overbearing, the future was bleak, I may not even made it considering the situation at that time. Miraculously, we won ... and everything were put in order, and I was free to go. I went back to our city, found a job, work hard, but always have time for you before I close my eyes, no matter how weary it gets. Once in blue moon, I thought I saw a glimpse of you, but it was the ray or the flare playing tricks on me. I told myself I would let you go, uncage the memory; you may have found another and be a father to little version of you and her. And so I have decided, on the 3000th day, I would say my final farewell.

What language are you speaking/writing?

The English language is being abused more than ever before. I can read a blog and have no idea what the person is trying to convey. Do they ever proof read his/her blog? Sometimes you can tell that a sentence was translated directly from another language, other time it is just plain bad. For those who has been speaking the language since they are young, for the love of God, do not torture it. I am pretty sure you do not wish anyone to abuse your native language either, given that English is not your native language.
Be sophisticated, but be realistic.

What will the future hold?

Last week was an aberrant week, mentally. I commenced in my permanent lab, with a august determination. Then on second day came the news. It gave me mixed feeling about going home or staying here. I wanted to go home but I will have problem with paperworks. Staying here meant I missed paying my last respect. Mum said it was no point since it'd take about 2 days plus more with the seat availability. So I can only ask the wind the deliver the message. It will be strange to go home to an empty house. I know a lot of people will feel different too.
I hope I will be able to go home come summer. It will be a busy and crazy trip, but a good one. I'm still in the nonchalant mood, but it will be different once I got the ticket. Then come the paperwork.
The weather had been queer too. One day it was spring like, next it was freezing, then it warmed up. I hope it stays warm from now on. It tends to make everyone happy. That's what one needs over here among the darkness. The daffodils are almost blooming, the buds are getting bigger. I can't wait to start my new flower garden, just hope the squirrels do not get to them first.
Finally, time to let go. Birds of a feather flock together. What more can be said about that?

Elephant Woman

Angel I can see myself in your eyes
Angel won’t you feel for me from your heart
Do return my heart to me
No don’t insist
I’m already hurt

Elephant girl
It was an accident unfortunate
Angel threw me like a rubber man
Aiming for the ground
Why amuse yourself in such way
No don’t insist
I’m already hurt

Lay me down on the ground softly softly
Don’t remove my head hurts much too much

You never return it
Well I wouldn’t miss it
I shed no tears for broken me
You never know it my peace of mind
Now inside and outside are matching

Why amuse yourself in such a way
No don’t insist I’m already hurt
If you never return it
Will it break your wings
Will you shed no tear for broken me

Thanksgiving

So many things to thank for, such little stomach to fill all the goodness. It was a delicious meal, especially the dessert. It would have been nicer were there more people to share the food.

Pan's Labyrinth

In your fantasy world, you always get to be the superhero. But then, many things start with dreams.

Are you kidding me? Seriously?!!

Read this article written by a M'sian man. I presume this represents around 75% of the male population in M'sia? (I am being kind here, seriously). How ignorant and stupid he sounded, and unfortunately, he did not even realize that. Or maybe, just maybe ... he was being sarcastic? I will let you decide.

Woman - Nothing but Trouble

Posted by: jcyh1981 Post(s) by this blogger
Woman, please, I beg you to stop wearing skimpy clothes. Spaghetti straps and tube tops are definitely out of the topic. They will only make us ogle at you and we might get sore eyes! Remember, we are the ones working hard to bring back bread for you to be put on the table. So, don’t distract us from our work, so that we can bring in more daily bread to feed you.
Bikinis or swimming suits when you go swimming? No way! If this continues, we will have no more swimming champions in the men’s category, as we will be busy looking at you with no time left for practice.
Short skirts? No, no! It’s not desirable. Have you forgotten that they can attract CCTV cameras to zoom in on you? Malu, you know? People won’t sympathize with you. You actually deserve it. Who knows, you might even be sued for obstructing that technician in carrying out his work.
What, after all that covering up, you still get raped! Ai… don’t blame us guys. You know this kind of instinct and desire can’t be controlled. God made us like that! What to do? It must be something that you have done that caused you to get this kind of treatment. Think back, the way you walk, you smile, or maybe they way you move your arms. These can be factors too.
I think the best way is still to stay at home. Don’t go out. As all of us know, a woman’s place is at home. Marital rape? Raped by uncle and grandfather? Father too? What? Brothers are also involved! Woman, oh woman, I told you not to move. Just sit in your room like a statue. Don’t even think of moving your finger as this action can get us to be excited!
What? You want to defend yourself? No, no, no! Shh!!! Keep your mouth shut. Don’t even think of talking. Your voice might just arouse us. Don’t blame us if something untoward happen to you.
Woman, know your position well. You are just a piece of ‘meat’. No matter whether you are covered or uncovered, you would still be preyed upon. Your fate lies in the mouth of a cat, tiger or leopard. Count your blessings if your predator walk past you and does not show any interest in you. But then, sorry if that beast decides to devour you. Shoot that beast? No way, they are made to be like that. They are carnivorous, you know? You can’t just go against nature.
Aargh! God, you shouldn’t even create woman at all! They really do cause a lot of problems and bring only trouble! The world would be a better place without them. Or maybe there should be a paradigm shift in our thinking…. Wouldn’t it be better if those beasts were not created in the first place? This thought is worth to be pondered upon.

How to save a life?

Can we just let everything go and hope for the best? One picks the path but never get to choose the course. Whose life is more important? Ours or theirs? Without them, we will extinct; without us, they may survive better. By now, our destruction is irreversible. We are their only hope of continuous persistence. We seem to make the same mistake over and over again, and yet only a small part of us understood our error. The rest kept doing it in greed. How to save a life?

Lullaby

They didn't have you where I come from
Never knew the best was yet to come
Life began when I saw your face
And I hear your laugh like a serenade

I slip in bed when you're asleep
To hold you close and feel your breath on me
Tomorrow there'll be so much to do
So tonight I'll drift in a dream with you

As you wander through this troubled world
In search of all things beautiful
You can close your eyes when you're miles away
And hear my voice like a serenade

How long do you want to be loved
Is forever enough, is forever enough
How long do you want to be loved
Is forever enough
Cause I'm never, never giving you up

Got time?

At 20, I found my first love.
At 22, I went on a roller coaster ride that lasted years.
At 25, I climbed a mountain with no peak.
At 26, I revisited the magical world.
May I find a place where I left my heart when I was 20.

Summer Solstice

Welcoming the summer solstice, at the same time giving thanks to all Gods and Goddesses (if plural for princess is princesses, then I presume the same goes for goddess), spirits of the living and the non-living on Earth. I am so grateful for the EXCELLENT news!

Fish, fish, oh my fishes!

Day 0: Water conditioned
Day 1: 3 fishes, 1 died
Day 4: Added 3, all dead ( didn't know why since I followed all the procedure required; left the bag in the fish bowl to stabilize the temperature, etc)
Day 5: Added 4, 2 died the next day
Day 6: Added 2 ...
Day 9: 1 died

An Update

So what has been going on since I last wrote? Alot ... happy days, stressful days, hair-pulling days, tearful days, going-crazy days, pray-like-there-is-no-tomorrow days, disappointed days, suicidal days ... you name it, I experienced it. The semester was over a week ago, the relief was overwhelmingly welcomed. The students were difficult this semester, and challenged, mentally and concentratedly. That was where most of my crazy and hair pulling days and part of suicidal days consisted of. Then came the rejection, which was very hard to face. Then came the responsibilty of being a friend where the experience was eye-opening with dashes of anger management. Then there was the long awaited wish germinated, which brightened the hope in me. And now, last but definitely not the least, I am still waiting for the outcome of this wish ...

In the course of stumbling through the path, I found a new interest. By the way things are going so far, I clearly need lots of amelioration.

Welcome Spring, and the new lives you brought with you.

Snowboarding Rocks!!!

Feb. 07, 2006: Was I prepared after 2 hours of falling on my derrieres and getting bruises all over my body? You bet I do!!! Took 2 ibuprofen before bed and slept like a baby. Almost afraid to sleep too because I fell so hard the last 2 tries and hit my head hard. The next day, it was not as bad as I thought it would be with the pain reliever taking effect. I should have continued taking some the next day because by the second day, my muscles were so sore that it took so much effort just to open the door, as though one had dumbbells attached to each muscles. Every step felt so heavy. But it was defintely worth all the pain ... I would do it again given the chance. Snowboarding really rocks!!
